The purpose ...

The idea for this "recommendations" page came out of a hypothetical situation Dan and I were discussing a while back: 

Suppose you have a few free minutes and a computer in front of you.  How quickly can you find something (music/books/movies/ideas/anything) that you love? Not something passibly decent to occupy that moment, but something truly great.  The answer of course is "not very quickly at all".  Turns out that tail is a little too long.  And the solution of course is finding appropriate curators to narrow the search to things you are more likely to find acceptably great.

So with that in mind we created this page as a way to record and share among the three of us some things we are currently enjoying - some all time favourites, some very much of the moment.  - JL
